Description
Lauryl alcohol is ethoxylated with 9 moles of ethylene oxide to produce lauryl alcohol ethoxylate-9 (LAE-9), a nonionic surfactant. It is a light-smelling liquid that is transparent and colourless. Shampoos, conditioners, body washes, dishwashing detergents, laundry detergents, fabric softeners, and other household and personal care products all contain LAE-9. In addition, it is used in a few industrial processes, including the creation of paints and coatings.
