Description
The process of ethoxylating cetostearyl alcohol with ethylene oxide yields ceto stearyl alcohol ethoxylate 20, commonly known as ceteareth-20, which is a non-ionic surfactant. It is a waxy, white solid that can be dissolved in polar solvents as well as water. Creams, lotions, foundations, hair conditioners, and shaving preparations are just a few examples of personal care products that utilise ceteareth-20. As a co-emulsifier, emulsifier, and viscosity modifier, it works. For use in cosmetics, ceteareth-20 is usually seen very safe.
