Description
Nodules or growths that develop abnormally in the thyroid gland are known as thyroid nodules. They can be categorised as solid, primarily solid, cystic (filled with fluid), or predominantly cystic according on what is found inside the nodule. Only 7 to 15% of thyroid nodules are malignant, and the majority of benign thyroid nodules are asymptomatic.1 Thyroid nodules can, however, produce symptoms like soreness, tenderness, and/or difficulty swallowing. They may also become an aesthetic issue, depending on their size.
