Bluemen 25 mg is a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It contains Sildenafil Citrate as its active ingredient. Sildenafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor that improves blood flow to the penis, helping achieve and sustain an erection during sexual stimulation.

Uses

Erectile Dysfunction (ED): Assists in achieving and maintaining an erection during sexual activity.

Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH): Occasionally prescribed to reduce blood pressure in the lungs and improve exercise capacity (off-label use for this dose should be confirmed by a doctor).

How It Works

The PDE5 enzyme controls blood flow in the penis, while sildenafil suppresses it. When sexually stimulated, it increases blood flow to the penile tissues by promoting blood vessel relaxation by PDE5 inhibiting.

Dosage and Administration

Recommended Dose: 25 mg taken orally, approximately 30–60 minutes before sexual activity.

Frequency: Take only once per day. Do not exceed the prescribed dose.

With or Without Food: Can be taken with or without meals, but high-fat meals may delay its effectiveness.

Note: Sexual stimulation is necessary for Sildenafil to be effective. It does not cause automatic erections.

Precautions

Avoid Use If:

taking nitric oxide donors or nitrates (such as nitroglycerin), as this may cause a severe reduction in blood pressure.

Priapism (painful erections lasting more than 4 hours).

Severe allergic reactions (e.g., rash, swelling, difficulty breathing).

Drug Interactions

Avoid Combining With:

Nitrates (for heart issues or chest pain).

Additional PDE5 inhibitors, such as Vardenafil and Tadalafil.

Alpha-blockers (for problems with the prostate or excessive blood pressure).

some antibiotics or antifungal drugs (e.g., erythromycin, ketoconazole).

Drinking alcohol may make adverse effects like lightheadedness or hypotension more likely.
